Crynodeb o'r ymchwil
Rwy'n seicolegydd sydd â diddordebau mewn seicopatholeg ddatblygiadol mewn cyd-destunau cymdeithasol yn ystod plentyndod a glasoed. Mae gen i ddiddordeb arbennig yn y berthynas rhwng agweddau ar weithrediad teulu ac iechyd meddwl plant.
Mae'r ymchwil gyfredol yn cynnwys cydweithrediad â'r PIs, yr Athro Rachel Hiller (Coleg Prifysgol Llundain) a'r Athro Lisa Holmes (Prifysgol Sussex) ar brosiect ReThink hydredol a ariennir gan Gyngor Ymchwil Feddygol y DU. Mae'r tîm wedi gweithio gyda dros 400 o bobl ifanc sydd â phrofiad mewn gofal i'n helpu i ddeall yn well beth sy'n gwneud gwahaniaeth yn ystod y cyfnod pontio i'r ysgol uwchradd ac i adael gofal a/neu droi'n 18 oed. Darganfyddwch fwy drwy ddarllen ein papur diweddaraf a gyhoeddwyd yn Clinical Child Psychology and Psychiatry, sydd ar gael yma: https://doi.org/10.1177/13591045251333028
Rwy'n cyd-arwain Astudiaeth Carfan Mabwysiadu Cymru gyda Dr Amy Paine, sydd bellach yn ei degfed flwyddyn o gasglu data. Astudiaeth Carfan Mabwysiadu Cymru yw'r sampl fwyaf a mwyaf nodweddiadol o deuluoedd mabwysiadu Cymru a astudiwyd erioed. Ers dechrau'r astudiaeth yn 2014[1], mae ein tîm wedi cyfuno gwybodaeth o gofnodion gwaith cymdeithasol cyn y lleoliad gyda 7 pwynt amser o adroddiadau rhieni mabwysiadol o iechyd plant a bywyd teuluol dros 10 mlynedd ar ôl y lleoliad. Ariannwyd pump o'r pwyntiau amser hyn o gasglu data gan Lywodraeth Cymru, gan arwain at gyhoeddi mwy na 25 o bapurau academaidd a adolygwyd gan gymheiriaid (e.e., Anthony et al., 2019; Paine et al., 2021; Paine et al., 2023). Cefnogodd cyllid pellach[2] nodweddu'n fanwl proffiliau niwrowybyddol is-sampl o blant 4 i 7 oed yn y sampl i lywio meysydd penodol lle gall plant elwa o gymorth wedi'i dargedu (e.e., Paine et al., 2023) a galluogi cydweithrediadau ehangach a ariennir yn allanol gan gynnwys ymchwil ar brofion genetig a mabwysiadu (Arribas-Ayllon et al., 2020) a gwarcheidiaeth arbennig a bywyd teuluol (Stabler et al., Teuluoedd gwarcheidiaeth arbennig: profiadau ac anghenion cymorth - Sefydliad Nuffield). Mae ein cyhoeddiad diweddaraf yn ystyried profiadau mabwysiadwyr o gyswllt â theuluoedd geni yn y blynyddoedd ar ôl y lleoliad ac fe'i harweiniwyd gan Dr Ed Janes. Mae'r astudiaeth hefyd wedi cryfhau'r sylfaen dystiolaeth sydd wedi cyfrannu at waith NAS Cymru a'i randdeiliaid. Er enghraifft, roedd ein canfyddiadau yn gonglfaen i Bartneriaeth Trosglwyddo Gwybodaeth arobryn gyda Chymdeithas Plant Dewi Sant i ymgorffori model arloesol o ddarparu gwasanaethau ar gyfer teuluoedd mabwysiadol: Mabwysiadu Gyda'n Gilydd: cefnogi mabwysiadu plant sy'n aros hiraf - Ysgol Seicoleg - Prifysgol Caerdydd
