Darlithydd mewn Eidaleg
Trosolwyg
Rwy'n Ddarlithydd mewn Eidaleg a diwylliant gweledol, rwy'n dysgu iaith Eidaleg a hanes celf Eidaleg Canoloesol a Dadeni. Mae fy niddordebau personol yn fwy cyffredinol yn gorwedd yn hanes celf Lloegr ac Ewrop Canoloesol a'r Dadeni. Yn benodol, rwy'n astudio strwythur yr eglwys ganoloesol a'i dylanwad ar gymdeithas yr Oesoedd Canol a'r Dadeni. Yn fwy diweddar, rwyf hefyd wedi troi fy sylw at y rôl newydd y mae AI yn ei chael ar yr AU ac Addysg Brifysgol, ac rwy'n rhan o'r grŵp ymchwil AI o fewn yr Ysgol Ieithoedd Modern lle rwy'n rhedeg prosiectau sy'n gysylltiedig ag AI a chymhwyso AI i fodiwlau ac ymchwil. Rwyf hefyd yn Arweinydd Cyflogadwyedd ar gyfer yr Ysgol Ieithoedd Modern ac rwy'n arwain Tîm yr Ysgol mewn perthynas â chyfleoedd gwaith a chyflogadwyedd i fyfyrwyr ar bob blwyddyn.

Ymchwil
Mae fy ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar esblygiad cymdeithas y Gorllewin dros y canrifoedd diwethaf, gyda phwyslais arbennig ar gyfnodau yr Oesoedd Canol a'r Dadeni. O fewn y cyfnod hwn, rwy'n ymchwilio i rôl y celfyddydau gweledol yng Ngorllewin Ewrop, o'r Oesoedd Canol cynnar i'r oes gyfoes.
Yn ystod y cyfnod Canoloesol, chwaraeodd cred Gristnogol a sefydliadau crefyddol rôl ganolog wrth lunio celf a phensaernïaeth. Roedd gwerthoedd Cristnogol naill ai'n cael eu cynnal yn gryf neu eu herio'n ffyrnig, ac ychydig o systemau cred sydd wedi sbarduno cymaint o drafodaeth, dadl a dadleuon â Christnogaeth.
Roedd y Dadeni yn nodi newid dramatig - o fyd-olwg sy'n canolbwyntio ar Dduw i un sy'n canolbwyntio ar asiantaeth ddynol - gan gyflwyno system newydd o werthoedd artistig, cymdeithasol a gwleidyddol, lle daeth unigolion yn grewyr eu tynged eu hunain.
Yn y cyfnod cyfoes, gyda dylanwad cynyddol deallusrwydd artiffisial mewn addysg a chymdeithas, rydym yn dyst i drawsnewidiad arall: newid o asiantaeth sy'n canolbwyntio ar ddynol i brosesau sy'n cael eu gyrru gan beiriant, gan leihau rôl bodau dynol o actorion canolog i arsylwyr goddefol.
Yn erbyn y cefndir hwn o gyd-destunau gwrthdaro a thrawsnewidiol, mae fy ymchwil yn archwilio'r ffactorau cymdeithasol, gwleidyddol, crefyddol ac artistig allweddol sydd wedi cyfrannu at y newidiadau diwylliannol hyn. Mae gen i ddiddordeb arbennig yn sut mae moeseg ac estheteg Gristnogol wedi dylanwadu ar ddiwylliant y Gorllewin, trwy eu cyflwyno a'u dirywiad yn y pen draw mewn bywyd bob dydd.
