Responsibilities
To work closely with and provide professional management support to the Head of School and to other senior members of academic staff, participating actively in the School’s contribution to the achievement of the University and College Strategic Plan.
To be responsible to the Head of School for the effective and efficient delivery of professional services in the School, and to be professionally accountable to the College Registrar for the implementation of College/University initiatives and continuous improvement of support services.
To contribute actively to the strategic development of the School and its contribution to the University and College Strategic Plans by providing high-level analysis and support for the drafting, implementation and review of the School plan, key performance indicators and supporting operational plans.
To provide professional management support to the Head of School and other senior staff on all matters concerning the operation and development of the School, contributing to School decision-making, and handling certain high-level correspondence and negotiations on their behalf.
To lead and manage the School’s professional services staff, developing and promoting a vision and strategy for the team, setting and regularly reviewing standards of service delivery and engendering within the team a commitment to delivering high quality services outstanding customer service, and a culture of continuous improvement and collaborative working.
To understand financial modelling for strategic and operational planning purposes, including overseeing the annual expenditure budget preparations, student numbers modelling and preparing longer term forecast and scenario plans.
To project manage School initiatives on behalf of the Head of School, including infrastructure developments, procurement of high-value research equipment and workforce planning.
To be an effective member of the College Operations Group. To be responsible for the implementation of priorities, projects and initiatives which support the agreed strategic objectives of the College.
