Richard has worked within the public sector between health and education for over 25 years undertaking a variety of financial management roles.  He has worked for Cardiff University and prior to the merger in 2004 the University of Wales College of Medicine since 1992.  He is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Prior to his current role, Richard was the School Finance Director for School of Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education from 2006, and Head of Corporate Financial Services within University Finance team for the preceding two years. In addition to this, he has held a number of senior financial positions within the University Finance Department providing advice and financial support.

He is married with two children and his hobbies include playing basketball, squash and walking.
