Ymchwil
Mae fy ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar y berthynas rhwng dinasyddiaeth, y cyfryngau ac emosiwn - a sut mae'n cael ei effeithio gan newid ac arloesedd technolegol cyflym. Rwy'n datblygu prosiectau ymchwil newydd ar gyfryngau populist asgell dde, "deep fakes" a newyddiaduraeth gymunedol. Mae rhai o'm prosiectau a ariennir yn ddiweddar yn cynnwys prosiect yr Academi Brydeinig, "The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on community journalism start-ups in the UK" (2020-2022) a "Evaluating the challenge of 'fake news' and other malinformation" (Australian Research Council Discovery Grant, PI: Axel Bruns, Prifysgol Technoleg Queensland, 2020-2023).
Rwyf wedi gwneud gwaith helaeth ar sut mae dinasyddion yn cael eu cynrychioli ac yn cymryd rhan trwy ffurflenni newyddion a genres, gan gynnwys cyfweliadau vox pop, llythyrau at y golygydd, sylw trychineb a chynnwys a gynhyrchir gan ddefnyddwyr.
Addysgu
I teach on the undergraduate module "Media and Democracy" and and the MA module "Introduction to Journalism Studies" as well as on the school’s PhD seminars.
I have supervised more than ten PhD students to completion, and welcome PhD applications in areas relating to emotions, media and democracy.
