Rwy'n ymchwilydd, athro cymwysedig ac yn nyrs gofrestredig (maes oedolion) gyda chefndir clinigol mewn gofal lliniarol a diwedd oes mewn canser uwch ac yn Ddarllenydd yn Ysgol y Gwyddorau Gofal Iechyd ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd. Fi yw'r arweinydd thema ymchwil ar gyfer optimeiddio lles a rheoli cyflyrau hirdymor.
Ers 2019 rwyf wedi bod yn Athro Anrhydeddus ym Mhrifysgol Abertawe.
Yn fy ymchwil, rwy'n gweithio gydag ymchwilwyr amlbroffesiynol, gweithwyr gofal iechyd proffesiynol ac aelodau'r cyhoedd, yn genedlaethol ac yn rhyngwladol. Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n arwain yr ymchwiliad i brofiadau pobl o gael eu trin ag imiwnotherapi canser ac anghenion addysg a hyfforddiant gweithwyr gofal iechyd proffesiynol mewn perthynas â'r triniaethau cyffrous hyn. Rwyf hefyd yn arwain astudiaeth sy'n ymchwilio i effaith COVID-19 ar Nyrsys yng Nghymru mewn cydweithrediad ag Iechyd Cyhoeddus Cymru ac Iechyd i Weithwyr Iechyd Proffesiynol Cymru a braich Cymru o astudiaeth ledled y DU sy'n ymchwilio i ffactorau sy'n helpu i hyrwyddo gwytnwch a chefnogi addysg glinigol myfyrwyr nyrsio yn ystod pandemig COVID-19 a ariennir gan yr ESRC. Rwy'n gyd-ymgeisydd ar gyfer yr astudiaeth IPrehab a ariennir gan NIHR, a ddechreuodd ym mis Ebrill 2023.

Mae gen i sylfaen academaidd yn y gwyddorau cymdeithasol a gwleidyddol a nyrsio ac rwy'n ymchwilydd ansoddol gweithredol, cyhoeddi, gwneud cyflwyniadau cynhadledd gyda ffocws ar salwch/cyflyrau cronig, yn enwedig canser uwch, lles y gweithlu, yn enwedig trallod moesol, ac archwilio ar lefel doethuriaeth. Rwy'n adolygu ceisiadau grant ar gyfer Cynllun Ymchwil ar gyfer Budd Cleifion NIHR, Cydweithrediad Adeiladu Capasiti Ymchwil Cymru (CBSRC Cymru) a Tenovus. Rwy'n aelod o'r Panel Adolygu Gwyddonol ar gyfer y Gynhadledd Addysg Nyrsio Ryngwladol (NET/NEP) a Chynhadledd Ryngwladol Nyrsio Canser (ICCN). Rwy'n adolygu'n rheolaidd ar gyfer sawl cyfnodolyn ac yn olygydd ar gyfer y cyfnodolyn rhyngwladol adolygu cymheiriaid Nurse Education in Practice.

Meysydd goruchwyliaeth
Rwyf wedi ymrwymo i gynyddu gallu a gallu ymchwil o fewn nyrsio a gweithwyr proffesiynol perthynol i iechyd. Mae gen i wybodaeth a sgiliau mewn dulliau ymchwil ansoddol, yn enwedig ethnograffeg. Mae gen i ddiddordeb mewn goruchwylio myfyrwyr PhD a hoffai archwilio dimensiynau gofal cefnogol i bobl a theuluoedd sy'n byw gyda salwch cronig, gan gynnwys canserau, a hefyd cymorth gweithlu yng nghyd-destun iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol, yn enwedig y gweithlu nyrsio a myfyrwyr nyrsio gan ddefnyddio methodolegau ansoddol a thynnu ar y gwyddorau cymdeithasol.
Mae gen i ddiddordeb mewn goruchwylio myfyrwyr PhD ym meysydd:
- Optimeiddio lles mewn canser, yn enwedig ymhlith pobl sy'n cael eu trin ag atalyddion checkpoint imiwnedd;
- Profiadau pobl o salwch cronig
- Optimeiddio gofal cefnogol mewn salwch cronig;
- Nyrsio canser, yn enwedig gofal cefnogol
- Trallod moesol ymhlith y gweithlu nyrsio ac ymyriadau i liniaru ac atal trallod moesol
Rwy'n oruchwyliwr ôl-raddedig profiadol. Rwyf wedi goruchwylio saith myfyriwr lefel doethurol (PhD a Doethuriaeth Broffesiynol) i'w cwblhau'n amserol a thros 20 o fyfyrwyr ôl-raddedig (MSc) gyda'u traethodau hir. Rwyf wedi archwilio'n allanol ym Mhrifysgol Sheffield Hallam a Phrifysgol De Cymru ac rwy'n arholwr allanol ar gyfer y Ddoethuriaeth Broffesiynol (Nyrsio a Bydwreigiaeth) ym Mhrifysgol Oxford Brookes.
