Rwy'n bensaer cymwysedig gyda dros 20 mlynedd o brofiad mewn ymarfer ac academia.
Ers 2007 mae fy ymchwil wedi canolbwyntio ar y cysur a'r defnydd o ynni mewn anheddau cynhenid, brodorol, traddodiadol a chyfoes, gan ddefnyddio mewn monitro situ, efelychu digidol ac adeiladu a monitro celloedd prawf corfforol. Canolbwyntiodd fy PhD ar ddosbarthu adeiladau ffrâm bren hanesyddol yn y DU ac effeithiau eu hôl-ffitio ynni isel, maes yr wyf yn parhau i'w ymchwilio, gan gynnwys prosiectau a ariennir gan Historic England.
Ar yr un pryd mae fy mhrofiad mewn ymarfer pensaernïol wedi cynnwys gwaith ar ystod eang o brosiectau sydd wedi ennill gwobrau. O'r herwydd, mae fy mhrofiad yn darparu cydbwysedd o wyddoniaeth bensaernïol, dylunio ac adeiladu adeiladau, a hanes a theori pensaernïol.
Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n addysgu ar yr MSc mewn Cadwraeth Adeiladu Cynaliadwy fel Arweinydd Modiwl ar gyfer "Defnydd ynni mewn Adeiladu hanesyddol", a chydlynydd y traethawd hir. Rwyf hefyd yn arwain uned Thesis Dylunio MArch2, "Pastau Carbon, Dyfodol Carbon Isel", sydd bellach yn ei bedwaredd flwyddyn, sy'n canolbwyntio ar rôl treftadaeth ddiwydiannol De Cymru wrth fynd i'r afael â'r argyfwng hinsawdd.

Rwy'n addysgu ar yr MSc Cadwraeth Adeiladu Cynaliadwy, yr wyf yn Arweinydd Modiwl ar gyfer "Defnydd Ynni mewn Adeiladau Hanesyddol", cydlynydd y traethawd hir, a'r tiwtor derbyn.
Yn ogystal, rwy'n arweinydd uned ar gyfer Uned Dylunio M.Arch2 5ed blwyddyn "Carbon Pasts, Dyfodol Carbon Isel" sydd bellach yn ei bedwaredd flwyddyn yn canolbwyntio ar ddyfodol cynaliadwy etifeddiaeth ôl-ddiwydiannol De-ddwyrain Cymru.
Mae fy mhrofiad yn cynnwys addysgu ar gyrsiau israddedig ac ôl-raddedig a addysgir yn Chile a'r DU. Mae cyrsiau blaenorol wedi cynnwys stiwdio ddylunio israddedig ac ôl-raddedig, dylunio cynaliadwy a biohinsoddol, ac ynni adnewyddadwy ar gyfer dylunwyr diwydiannol.
Bywgraffiad
Mae Chris Whitman yn bensaer Prydeinig gyda mwy nag 20 mlynedd o brofiad mewn ymarfer a'r byd academaidd. Astudiodd yng Ngholeg Celf Caeredin gyda chyfnewid Erasmus chwe mis yn Academi Frenhinol Celfyddydau Cain Denmarc yn Copenhagen ac ysgol haf ILAUD yn Fenis. Mae wedi gweithio gyda'r Building Design Partnership, Shepheard Epstein Hunter, ac am saith mlynedd bu'n gyfarwyddwr yn Edward Cullinan Architects (Stiwdio Cullinan erbyn hyn). Yn ystod ei ddwy flynedd ddiwethaf gyda nhw bu'n gweithio un diwrnod yr wythnos fel tiwtor stiwdio 3edd flwyddyn yn yr Ysgol Pensaernïaeth a'r Amgylchedd Adeiledig, Prifysgol Nottingham.
Yn 2007 symudodd Chris i Chile lle bu'n gweithio yn Universidad Central de Chile, Universidad Andrés Bello; ac Universidad Católica de Temuco. Yn y prifysgolion hyn bu'n gweithio fel darlithydd, tiwtor dylunio ac ymchwilydd. Roedd ei ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar bensaernïaeth frodorol a brodorol, effeithlonrwydd ynni a gwerthuso ôl-deiliadaeth gyda diddordeb arbennig mewn deunyddiau adeiladu naturiol, carbon isel. Yn ogystal roedd yn ddarlithydd gwadd mewn rhaglenni ôl-raddedig yn y Bio Universidad Bio yn Concepción a'r Pontifica Universidad Católica yn Santiago.
Ar hyn o bryd mae'n Uwch Ddarlithydd ac Arweinydd Cwrs MSc Cadwraeth Adeiladu Cynaliadwy, yn Ysgol Pensaernïaeth Cymru, Prifysgol Caerdydd. Yn 2018 cwblhaodd ei PhD yn astudio'r "Dosbarthiad Adeiladau Ffrâm Bren Hanesyddol yn y DU ac Effeithiau Eu Ôl-ffitio Ynni Isel." Enillodd Ysgoloriaeth Ryngwladol Martin Weaver y Gymdeithas Technoleg Cadwraeth yn 2015 ac enillodd eu Gwobr Fuller Oliver Torrey yn 2017. Yn ddiweddar mae hefyd wedi cyfrannu at yr 2il rifyn sydd i ddod o Encyclopaedia o Vernacular Architecture of the World.
