Trosolwyg
Mae prif ddiddordeb ymchwil Gabriela ym maes perfformiad ynni a chynaliadwyedd adeiladau. Mae ei gwaith yn canolbwyntio ar y ffactorau dynol (gweithredoedd pobl, ymddygiad) sy'n effeithio ar berfformiad adeiladau. Mae hi'n defnyddio technegau monitro, damcaniaethau gwyddorau cymdeithasol a dulliau ymchwil gwyddorau cymdeithasol i ymchwilio i'r cysylltiad rhwng agweddau technegol a dynol ar berfformiad.
Mae hi wedi ymchwilio i ffactorau dynol mewn perfformiad a chynaliadwyedd yn y broses ddylunio ac mewn adeiladau sy'n gweithredu. Mae ei gwaith ar adeiladau presennol yn edrych ar y cysylltiad rhwng ymddygiad/arferion preswylwyr, amgylchedd dan do (cysur thermol yn arbennig) a pherfformiad adeiladu. Nod hyn yw hysgogi ymddygiad/arferion i fynd i'r afael â heriau perfformiad. Mae ei gwaith ym maes dylunio yn edrych ar sut mae dylunwyr yn mynegi ac ymgorffori gofynion perfformiad a chynaliadwyedd yn y broses ddylunio. Nod hyn yw nodi gwersi o'r broses ddylunio i wella perfformiad mewn camau diweddarach o gylch bywyd yr adeilad. Mae ganddi ddiddordeb mewn gwaith rhyngddisgyblaethol sy'n edrych ar y materion hyn mewn prosesau dylunio ac mewn gwahanol fathau o adeiladau, yn enwedig adeiladau ysgol. Mae ganddi ddiddordeb mewn gweithio ar ymchwil sy'n canolbwyntio ar blant ac ymchwilio i sut mae pobl ifanc yn cymryd rhan mewn adeiladau cynaliadwy.
