Biography
I qualified as a clinical psychologist from the South Wales Doctorate in 2008. After qualifying I worked in a community adult learning disability service in Cwm Taf University Health Board before moving to Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) where I worked in a community mental health team and the specialist perinatal mental health service. I joined the MSc Clinical Associate in Applied Psychologist programme at Cardiff University as a Senior Academic Tutor in 2023. Alongside this role I continue to work clinically for the NHS as a supervisor in ABUHB and in maternity for Cardiff and Vale University Board with women seeking sanctuary.
I have extensive experience and training in DBT and EMDR and I am an accredited practitioner in video interactive guidance and cognitive analytic therapy (CAT). I also contribute to teaching and marking for the South Wales CAT training programme.
I have a leadership role in perinatal mental health and chair the perinatal workstream for Traumatic Stress Wales. My research interests are primarily focused on service improvement projects within the field of perinatal mental health.
