Biography

I have worked within various psychology roles in the NHS since 2001, and across the specialties of Learning Disabilities, Forensic, Substance Misuse, and Adult Mental Health.

I qualified as a clinical psychologist in 2007 after training on the South Wales Doctoral Course. Since qualifying I have predominantly worked within the Adult Mental Health specialty. I have worked in both community and inpatient settings and have been responsible for setting up a psychology service within an NHS inpatient setting across a Health Board.

In my current clinical role, I work with a broad range of presentations. My specialism is working with individuals who present with severe and unremitting ‘personality disorder’ presentations. I am an advanced accredited schema therapist and have trained to provide supervision in this modality.

I have been working on the South Wales Doctoral in Clinical Psychology Training Programme since 2019. I started in the Academic Stream, overseeing the year 1 curriculum. I now work as the Clinical Director on the programme, overseeing the placements and clinical aspects of the programme.
