Livestock markets as therapeutic sites: evaluating third sector approaches to rural health in Wales

This project explores the critical role of the third sector in supporting the farming community in Wales, focusing on livestock markets as therapeutic sites. Utilizing participant-photo-elicitation, photographic ethnographic observations, and soundscapes, I will aim to capture the perspectives of employees and volunteers from farming support charities who are deeply connected and commited to the rural and farming community. Using creative methods a multimedia exhibit or installation will weave together visual, auditory, and narrative elements, creating an immersive experience that highlights the insights of those who are indigenous to these communities they chose to support. This exhibit will be accessible to the public, health care managers, and policymakers, emphasizing the often-overlooked contributions of third-sector organizations in promoting rural health and well-being.
