Overview
I am a PhD researcher funded by George Cooper's Royal Society University Research Fellowship. I am going to be working on plutonic xenoliths from subduction zones, looking at stable isotopes (Fe, Cu, Zn, Ti, etc.) on the crystal scale to investigate the magmtic plumbing system. I will learn to do clean lab column chemistry and to operate the mass spectrometer to analyse these isotopes. SEM elemental mapping will be utilised to find target crystals to do isotope work on. Specific areas of interest include St. Eustatius (Statia), Lesser Antilles and the Southern Volcanic Zone in Chile. Supervisors: George Cooper and Marc-Alban Millet.
