Overview

I am a PhD researcher exploring how the brain makes new cells in adulthood. My work combines molecular, imaging and transcriptomic approaches to explore how ZEB1 controls self-renewal and activation of adult neural stem cells in the hypothalamus.

Previously, I investigated the role of GATA6 in heart development and congenital heart disease, focusing on transcriptional activity, nuclear localisation, and live-cell imaging of novel variants.

Across my research, I am driven by a broader interest in how a small number of key genes can have such a big impact on health and development.
