Overview
I am a Doctoral Researcher at Cardiff University's School of Journalism, Media and Culture as part of an AHRC funded Collaborative Doctoral Award with University of Exeter and Imperial War Museums.
The title of my thesis is War, Photography & Empire: Visual Propaganda and British India. The project will address the use of commercial photojournalism and 'official' photography in visual propaganda concerning British India, to communicate Allied war aims and progress, during the Second World War and up to Partition.
Before joining Cardiff, I worked as an Education Officer at a museum, and within Learning and Development at University College London. My BA in History was completed at King's College London, and my MA in History of Art at University College London.
I presented my MA thesis, titled Picturing Respectability: Exploring Visual Resistance and Diasporic Identity in The 1860 Settler Magazine, at IAMHIST 2025. I have also previously presented interdisciplinary research for the Digital Games Research Association for their DiGRA 2023 and DiGRA 2024. Stemming from my paper presentation in 2024, I have been accepted to write a chapter in the forthcoming publication Horror Videogames: A Companion.
