Overview
Employed as a Radiotherapy Superintendent at Velindre Cancer Centre in North Cardiff, an important part of my role is the undertaking of investigations following the occurence of significant error. With a particular interest in Risk Management and Patient Safety, I am motivated to undertake research that could serve to reduce errors within a Radiotherapy team. This research could potentially be beneficial to Radiotherapy Practitioners, to patients receiving treatment, and therefore of local and national interest. The phenomenon that I will be focussing on is affect and its influence on patient safety. Currently a first year PhD researcher, I intend to explore the affective processes present following an error in the Radiotherapy Department.
