Overview
I graduated in 2022 studying Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry (1:1, MChem(Hons) with Industrial Studies) at Loughborough University. During this time, I undertook an industrial placement year at RSK Environmental Ltd, and a RSC funded research project into the potential of soil bacteria as novel sources of new antibiotics. My masters research project under the supervision of Dr. Mark Elsegood and Dr. Martin Smith sought to investigate the intermolecular interactions of a series of Pt(II) complexes containing polyaromatic moieties for potential applications as molecular tweezers.
My research interests revolve around the crystallisation of chemical systems and modification of crystalline habit. I am also interested in the study of the solid state by X-ray diffraction techniques, utilising serial, time-resolved and photo methods.
