Thesis
Photonic crystal cavity based sensing technology for point-of-care devices
Point-of-care devices are portable medical diagnostic appliances which are generally designed to respond quickly and much needed accuracy. My doctoral project is based on developing sensing technology for such devices involving photonic crystal cavities as the transducing material.
My work involves simulation of the crystal on COMSOL to generate optimal physical parameters, which promotes more accurate sensing. This will be followed by fabrication and characterization of the photonic crystal and finally shaping it towards a biosensing device.
