Biography
I am a PhD researcher at Cardiff University, working under the supervision of Prof. Jill Atkins, Dr Bo Guan, and Dr Simon Norton. My research, which began in October 2024, explores Biodiversity and Extinction Accounting and Assurance, with a focus on corporate transparency and environmental responsibility in the Global South.
My academic journey reflects a commitment to interdisciplinary inquiry and social impact. I hold an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the University of Derby (Distinction), where I critically examined tax compliance behaviour in response to UK policy reforms. I also earned a Graduate Certificate in Economic Development Finance from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, investigating the intersection of sustainable agriculture, gender inequality, and cultural practices among women farmers in Cameroon. My foundational training includes a First-Class degree in Educational Management and Economics from the University of Ibadan, and a Distinction in Cooperative Economics from the Federal Cooperative College, Nigeria.
Professionally, I have held roles in both the UK and Nigeria, including as Financial Accountant at FirstPort Group Ltd, Assistant Management Accountant at Nottingham Community Housing Association, and Associate Consultant at Sola Kehinde & Co. Chartered Accountants. These experiences have sharpened my practical understanding of governance, accountability, and development finance.
I am passionate about advancing research that bridges ecological and social justice, sustainability, and accountability, particularly within under-represented sectors and regions.
