Overview

I commenced my PhD under the supervision of Professor Holly Furneaux in October 2023. Prior to this, I completed both my BA (2018-2021) and MA (2021-2022) in English Literature at Cardiff University, achieving a First and Distinction respectively.

My Masters thesis, also under the supervision of Professor Holly Furneaux, investigated the spectralising effect of marriage within the short fiction of Mary Elizabeth Braddon.

My current thesis, continuing my work within the sensation genre, explores madness and masculinity within the lesser-explored fiction of Wilkie Collins, with particular interest in how deviations from heteronormative and ‘traditional’ masculinities are pathologized with destabilising effects on the body.

My interests are in Victorian literature, sensation fiction, and masculinity studies.
