Overview

I'm investigating how we can transition away from fossil fuels in chemical manufacturing by developing catalysts for acetylene-based chemistry. I will use electron microscopy to determine the precise structure of bimetallic catalysts. This will allow me to understand how structure influences catalytic performance, activity and selectivity. This research is part of an EPSRC-funded project exploring acetylene as a sustainable alternative to oil-derived ethene.

I recently graduated from The Open University with a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry. I have experience in process development, where I worked on viral vector downstream processes and quality assurance for a cell and gene therapy company. My diverse professional background spans process development, operations management, training and system administration across the insurance, telecommunications, charity and pharmaceutical sectors.
