Overview
I am an ESRC funded PhD student at Cardiff University. My PhD is in the sociology of urban greenspace, particularly the construction of people-place relations and the construction of public places in our towns and cities. My research focuses on the town of Swindon in south-west England, to explore sociological and political connections between residents' everyday encounters, belonging, identity, notions of home, and former industrial landscapes. I adopt mobile and creative methods to take my research outside and on the move. My work sits alongside other crafty practices of sociology, including mapping, collage, writing, film, and drawing.
