My research focuses on the sociophonetics of Third Language Acquisition (L3), specifically investigating how multilingual individuals navigate complex phonetic spaces. My dissertation investigates the cross-linguistic influence of monophthongal vowel systems among multilingual speakers of Uyghur (L1), Standard Mandarin (L2), and English (L3).
