Research

My current research intersects my interests in journalism/crime reporting, communication and justice delivery. 

• I combine linguistics (recontextualization) and media framing to investigate the language and communication of forensic evidence in criminal justice.
• The current research presents an African perspective to forensic linguistics and journalism

Broader Interests

• My broader research interests span language and communication, journalism/media, broadcastig and PR, areas in which I have considerable expertise
• I have a growing interest in science communication, digital culture and how emerging technologies, including AI, are influencing communication, education, and knowledge sharing

Academic and community engagement

Within Cardiff University, I have contributed to academic and student communities through editorial, student representation and conference-organising roles. 

• Co-chaired and volunteered on interdisciplinary conference organising committees, including the Breaking Boundaries Conference organised by Cardiff University’s Doctoral Academy and the Doctoral Global Humanity Retreat (2026)
• Served as Associate Editor for Intersectional Perspectives: Identity, Culture and Society from 2022 to 2023
• Held student representative roles at PGT level as Chair and Secretary, and at PGR level as Vice Chair
• Support outreach and student recruitment efforts within ENCAP
