Operational Manager, School Health Research Network (SHRN) DECIPHer
Overview
I am the Operations Manager for the School Health Research Network (SHRN), a national research–policy–practice partnership between Cardiff University, the Welsh Government, and Public Health Wales, hosted within the Centre for Development, Evaluation, Complexity and Implementation in Public Health Improvement (DECIPHer).
I provide operational leadership and assurance for SHRN’s core programmes of work, with responsibility for the planning, delivery, and risk management of annual national data collections across primary and secondary schools in Wales. This includes oversight of school engagement and retention, data governance and management, and the timely dissemination of research outputs to academic, policy, and practice audiences. See SHRN's Data Resource Profile
and Public Health Wales' Dashboard.
The role involves managing complex, system-wide relationships and interfaces, including sustained engagement with funders, policy partners, academic colleagues, delivery organisations, and external suppliers. Through this work, I support high-quality research delivery, robust governance, and effective use of resources, contributing to SHRN’s impact, sustainability, and alignment with university and funder expectations.
