Overview
I am a Professor of Accounting and Finance (Teaching and Scholarship route) at Cardiff Business School. I started my academic career as a Research Assistant in 1990 having graduated from UCW Aberystwyth with a degree in Economics and Accounting.
I was promoted to lecturer in 1993 and since this time have taught across a broad range of modules in both Accounting and Finance, at UG and PG level, and have held a number of senior strategic roles within the Business School, including Director of Student Experience, Director of Employability and Skills, and Deputy Head of Accounting and Finance (Learning & Teaching).
I am currently an External Examiner at Aberystwyth University and have undertaken a similar role previously in the University of the West of England. I have a keen interest in skills development and have developed a number of modules and academic programmes deisgned to improve students' employability.
I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Certified Business Management Educator (Chartered Association of Business Schools).

Research
I have previously researched and published in the areas of Corporate Reporting, Corporate Governance, and Financial Awareness. I am currently interested in pedagogy, student achievement, and curriculum-based professional ethics.
