Research

  •   Sustainable developments of synthetic routes for the discovery of new heterocycles having potential therapeutic agents through C-C and C-heteroatom bond formation reactions.
  •  Electrochemical batch/flow techniques for the utilization and safe handling of unstable synthetic intermediates in organic synthesis.
  •  Chemistry of hypervalent halogens and metal free strategies for the synthesis of value added small organic molecules and drug precursors.

Biography

Presently, Dr. Dhananjay Bhattacherjee is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie postdoctoral fellow at Cardiff University in Wirth’s research group. After obtaining his MSc in Chemistry from Assam University, Silchar (2011) and  Ph.D. in chemical sciences from CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh under Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), New Delhi in the year 2019, he moved to Ural Federal University, Russian Federation for his 1st postdoctoral research position. His current research interest encompasses the electrochemical oxidation of Group 17 elements and exploration of their reactivities in organic synthesis. However, his research interest includes Sustainable developments of synthetic routes for the discovery of new heterocycles having potential therapeutic agents through C-C and C-heteroatom bond formation reactions and metal free strategies for the synthesis of value added small organic molecules and drug precursors.
