Andy has always delivered optometry to the highest Level and has always worked to provide the best
possible service to his patients. He has been actively involved in the development of optometry and its
enhanced services throughout his career. He works closely both within his organization and with wider
stakeholders to push the boundaries for professional care whilst actively leading and training the next
generation of Optometrists both through pre-registration periods as well as in their pursuit of higher
qualifications.
He has undertaken numerous higher qualifications and uses these daily in support of a local Independent
Prescribing Optometry Service as well as in support of the local Glaucoma Pathways by utilizing both his
Independent Prescribing as well as his Diploma in Glaucoma.
Most recently he has taken the Cardiff University course in Ophthalmic Therapeutic Laser Procedures with
the goal of being able to safely deliver SLT, YAG Capsuolotomy and YAG Peripheral Iridotomies to patients
within the course of his professional work.
In September 2024 he took up a role as Senior Lecturer based in the West Wales Teach and Treat clinics in both Neath Port Talbot and Singleton Hospitals where he is supporting post graduate students attain higher professional qualifications in the field of Glaucoma.
