Overview
Graduated top of her class at both Coventry University (Geography and Natural Hazards) and University College London (MRes Disaster Risk Reduction), winning the UCL Institute of Risk and Disaster Reduction Masters Award 2016. She is the Co-Chair of the former Disaster Science Taskforce, now a special interest group for the Institute of Civil Protection and Emergency Management (ICPEM) and was previously a core team member for the National Preparedness Commission’s Independent review of the Civil Contingencies Act.
Passionate about improving national communication approaches and projects to enhance public preparedness and resilience to all hazards, disasters and emergencies. Her ambition is to see Disaster Science and the Sendai framework integrated into UK Civil Contingencies, especially considering the future global risk landscape, so we as a nation can enable the delivery of a whole system, whole cycle, whole of society, approach to UK strategy and policy making to facilitate risk informed sustainable development.
