Overview

I am a PhD student researching the neural basis of sensory sensitivities in autism to try and better understand why there is so much variability in autistic people's perceptual experience of the world. In my previous degrees, I conducted research into the links between alpha oscillations and AQ-10 scores, and into using Drift Diffusion Modelling to probe reported links between selective attention and activity of the locus coeruleus norepinephrine (LC-NE) system in autism.

Research

Thesis

I am investigating sensory sensitivities in autism using neuroimaging techniques, primarily focusing on OPM-MEG. My aim is to understand why many autistic people have differing levels of sensitivity to different sensory inputs, and why the presence of multiple sensory modalities can make focusing on one more difficult.
