Overview
My academic career began with an emphasis on architectural design. I am now a PhD candidate at the Welsh School of Architecture. My research topic focuses on using the design research method to enhance spatial quality for older adults in line with the community and home space context. From 2019 to 2020, I was awarded a Master of Art, in Architectural Design (MA AD) from the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University with a distinction, of 92% dissertation mark. From 2014 to 2019, I received five years of rigorous professional design training at the Fujian University of Technology, China at the undergraduate level, including architectural spaces design, urban planning, building construction, materials, and building environment design. I received a bachelor's degree and an excellent graduation design award, Asian Design Student Award 2018-Excellence Award.
I am a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Master of Art, Architectural Design (MA AD) at the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University. I participated in workshop support and acted as an external crit of BSc and MA AD.
From 2020-2021, I was an assistant architect in the W&R Architecture and Planning Group in Shenzhen, China. I participated in a planning project winning the AIA Design Awards Ceremony (Shanghai) Honour Award. In 2018, I participated in Fuzhou Strait Culture and Art Centre winning International Architecture Awards 2022 as an intern-architects at PES-Architects Ltd (Helsinki-Shanghai). In 2016, I was a part-time intern-tracer in Housing and Urban-rural Development in Fujian, China. From 2013 to 2015, I was an intern in construction management at China State Construction Engineering Corporation.

Research
My research topic is related to the enhancement of spatial quality for future older females' care in terms of architectural design. It is meaningful research that strengthens the connection between architectural design and the requirement of future older females. Furthermore, one of the essential methods of my research is a case study across the UK, which helps me to investigate the benchmark of spatial quality in architectural space for older adults.
