Teaching
Ivor Chestnutt leads teaching in Dental Public Health and teaches at all levels from Primary BDS to Intercollegiate Fellowship.
He has extensive experience as an External Examiner at Universities across the United Kingdom and overseas. He has examined on behalf of all three UK Royal Colleges. He is a past Chair of the Intercollegiate Specialty Examination in Dental Public Health and has been Specialty Advisor in Dental Public Health for Wales.
He has authored the popular "Dental Public Health at a Glance", a standard text in all Dental Public Health Courses in the United Kingdom.
Biography
Ivor Chestnutt is Professor in Dental Public Health at Cardiff University Dental School, Honorary Consultant to Cardiff and Vale University Health Board and is registered as a Specialist in Dental Public Health. He is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and received both his MPH and PhD degrees from the University of Glasgow. He holds Fellowships in dental surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the Royal College of Surgeons, England. Ivor is also a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
He is leads the dental and oral health package of the multidisciplinary, PRIME Centre Wales.
