Overview

I am a PhD student under the OneZoo Centre for Doctoral Training studying 'microsporidians', which are a group of microscopic fungal pathogens found anywhere from your pets to your food. I specialise in using computationally-backed methods to analyse large amounts of genetic data, however my project will also involved lab- and field-work.

The goal of my project is to identify what pressures these organisms into evolving more aggressive (virulent) traits.
