Research Assistant – Statistics

Overview

I am a Research Assistant in Statistics at the Centre for Trials Research in Cardiff University. I graduated from Swansea University with a BSc in Population Health and Medical Sciences and from the University of Bristol with an MSc in Epidemiology. My dissertation explored the associations between the Big Five personality traits and cognitive ability with COVID-19 vaccination hesitancy and uptake among mothers and offspring in a UK prospective cohort study.

I joined the CTR in March 2023 and I am currently working on the following studies:

  • PROcalcitonin and NEWS2 evaluation for Timely identification of sepsis and Optimal use of antibiotics in the Emergency Department (PRONTO)

  • The Social Workers in Schools (SWIS) Trial: An evaluation of school-based social work

  • Diagnostic accuracy of handheld ultrasound at 36-weeks of gestation to determine fetal presentation (SONO-BREECH)

  • Secure Care Hospital Evaluation of Manualised (interpersonal) Art-psychotherapy: A Randomised Controlled Trial (SCHEMA)
