Overview

I oversee the operational management of the Centre for Trials Research, a UKCRC-registered clinical trials unit, funded by Health and Care Research Wales. I develop processes and systems to support staff in delivering high-quality research, and I specialise in AI and automation. I have led the implementation of the Centre’s AI principles, deliver context-specific training on AI to our research staff, and I exploring areas where AI-led efficiencies can be made across our trials and other studies.

I am a keen advocate for inclusivity and EDI, and have been involved in various initiatives to improve our research culture, including the Cynnau/Ignite programme at Cardiff, and the FACTS Flourishing CTU project led by Nottingham Trials Unit. I am always open to collaborating on ways of making our work better and more inclusive.

Previous roles have included work as a research assistant in the School of Healthcare Sciences, and in research development at Cardiff Business School. I am a current ethics reviewer for the School of Medicine, Cardiff Biobank, and NHS Wales REC 2. Outside of work, I am a lived experience contributor to research, and treasurer for my local branch of Mind, the mental health charity.
