Overview

Lecturer in mental health psychology with Cardiff University's School of Psychology.

I am in the final stages of completing a PhD investigating the potential for sensory rooms to support the wellbeing of autistic pupils and pupils in the missing middle.

Trained in psychology, neuroscience, and linguistics, I bring an interdiscplinary perspective to research aimed at supporting neurodivergent people within their self-identified research priorities.

Research

My PhD focuses on the use of sensory rooms with two populations: autistic young people, and children in the missing middle. As this is an exploratory area, this research used mixed-methods, including reflexive thematic analysis, network analysis, and community detection.

I want to conduct further research to support the broader neurodivergent community, focusing on areas they have identified as priorities.

Teaching

For undergraduate students, I supervise practicals and dissertation projects.

For postgraduate students, I teach lectures on mental health psychology, develop exam questions, and mark assignments.

I am also a personal tutor.
