Biography
Research Associate, Energetic Materials, Cardiff University Mar 2022 – Current
Focus on organic batch and flow chemistry with energetic materials.
Technical Manager for Haydale Ltd, Ammanford Sept 2019 – Mar 2022
As the Technical Manager, I led the Plasma Team in developing and optimising new surface chemistries for nanomaterials and surfaces.I led grant funded and commercial projects and provided technical input to other areas of Haydales interests.
Post Graduate Research Associate for Cogent Power Ltd, Newport Oct 2016 – July 2021
My PhD was industrially sponsored with Cogent Power Ltd leading research on electrical steel tension coatings. The PhD was based at Cardiff University School of Chemistry, Cardiff University School of Engineering and at the sponsor site Cogent Power Ltd. I successfully achieved the main objective of my PhD and developed hexavalent chromium free tension coatings. My primary role was conducting my PhD but in addition I supported Cogent Power Ltd in analysing materials and providing support for pilot trial and line trials.
BSc (Hons) Chemistry, Cardiff University 2012-2016
Final Year Dissertation: Routes Towards Novel Naphthoquinone Derived N-heterocyclic Carbenes.
