Overview

I am an Associate Professor of Textile Science and Engineering, and currently a Visiting Professor at Cardiff University, School of Computational and Mathematical Sciences. My research focus on technical textiles, cellulosic fibers, fiber reinforced composites, natural dyeing, and microencapsulation technology. My current research at Cardiff University investigates artificial intelligence applications in textile materials and process.

Before joining Cardiff University, I served as a tenured Associate Professor at the Department of Textile, Clothing, Footwear and Leather, Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa. Throughout my academic career, I have taught undergraduate courses in general mathematics, general chemistry, general computing, materials science, garment technology, and research methods.

Over the years, I have authored more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters. My publications have appeared in leading journals. I have actively participated in numerous nationally funded research projects as principal investigator, researcher, consultant, and coordinator.

Alongside my research activities, I contribute extensively to the international scientific community through editorial and peer-review services for leading journals published by Nature, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, MDPI, Taylor & Francis, and ACS.

I welcome collaborations with researchers, industry partners, and students who are interested in fiber science, fiber reinforced composites, dyeing and finishing, technical textiles, and artificial intelligence applications in textile materials and process.
