Research
My research lies at the intersection of mechanical engineering, digital twin technology, additive manufacturing, and smart manufacturing. I am particularly focused on sustainable engineering solutions that contribute to the circular economy and support the transition to net zero emissions. My work involves developing advanced models and simulation tools to enhance system efficiency, optimise resource usage, and improve real-time monitoring of complex engineering systems.
Key areas of interest include:
Digital Twin Systems: Real-time simulation and monitoring of industrial systems for predictive maintenance and performance optimisation.
Additive Manufacturing: Design and development of novel 3D-printed components for enhanced durability and precision in engineering applications.
Sustainable Design: Research into materials innovation and lifecycle analysis to support eco-friendly product development and smart retrofitting systems.
I actively collaborate with both academic institutions and industry partners, including Swansea University, Sussex University, Wuhan University, SouthTech University in China, Tata Steel, and the NHS. My research outputs aim to address real-world challenges by developing innovative solutions for healthcare, manufacturing, and transportation. By fostering cross-disciplinary collaborations, I aim to drive innovation and deliver research that supports global sustainability goals.
