Responsibilities
Matthew manages the Digital Fabrication facility at the Welsh School of Architecture. He is able to offer advice on a broad aspect of design and making processes; as well as supporting the set up and creation of digital files (CNC Router, Laser Cutting & 3d Printing).
External activities
Matthew is a practising artist, who's work encompasses a varierty of mediums; Predominately Painting. The main body of his practice has focused our relationship with the urban landscape, with an emphasis on composition.
Biography
Since studying a BA in Fine Art, Contemporary media and completing a Master Degree is Fine Art, Matthew has worked in a supporting role; advising staff and students in the development and fabrication of artefacts across the broad creative sector of education, as well advising artists in a technical capacity.
Before taking the role of Digital Craftsman at the Welsh School of Architecture, Matthew was a Senior Fabrication Technician at the Newport School of Art and Design and a Technical Demonstrator within the Soft Modelling Department of Cardiff School of Art and Design.
