Teams and roles for Linda Hellard

Overview

As Business Manager for Executive Education at Cardiff Business School, I lead the delivery of impactful learning experiences that connect academic insight with business practice.

Over the past eight years, I have worked closely with SMEs - first through Welsh Government-funded data science support in the Data Innovation Accelerator, and more recently managing the UK Government’s Help to Grow: Management programme. I am always looking to engage with external partners and source inspiring speakers for our Breakfast Briefing series. Whether supporting bespoke programmes or open courses, my focus is on creating a seamless and excellent experience for every participant.

Biography

Linda rejoined the Executive Education department at Cardiff Business School in May 2025 as Business Manager, following her role as Business Manager for the UK Government’s Help to Grow: Management programme from November 2021 to May 2025. In this role, she was instrumental in supporting the delivery and strategic development of the programme, which aimed to enhance leadership and management skills in small and medium-sized enterprises across the UK.

Prior to this, Linda was seconded to the School of Computer Science and Informatics from 2018 to 2021, where she served as Business Liaison Officer for the Data Innovation Accelerator (DIA). The DIA collaborated with businesses to apply data science techniques, helping companies realise tangible benefits and encouraging the integration of data modelling, engineering, and analysis into everyday operations.

Linda originally joined Cardiff Business School in April 2013 as Business Relationship Manager. In this capacity, she has worked to ensure that individuals and organisations have a seamless and impactful experience with the School’s executive education programmes.

Before joining the University, Linda spent 24 years with Lloyds Banking Group in a variety of customer-facing roles. Her career there culminated in her position as an Operational Trainer, where she was responsible for designing and delivering training programmes. She draws on this extensive experience to enhance the learning environment for both facilitators and delegates, bringing a deep understanding of corporate training and customer service.
