Research
I am primarily a tropical ant ecologist, but I have strived to be broad in interest and scope. Every aspect of the ant life is fascinating to me, and deserves scientific exploration. I enjoy fieldwork, and I have gained years of experience working in challenging tropical areas around the world.
My most recent research is focussed on the influence of microclimate on ant communities, and their physiological responses to desiccation and heat stress.
In brief, my other main interests include:
(1) Taxonomy, Conservation & Natural History of Ants
(2) Ant diversity under human disturbance regimes
(3) Predation networks of Army Ants
(4) Myrmecophiles and their integration strategies
