Overview

My research concerns the cystic fibrosis (CF) microbiota and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). People with CF are burdened with polymicrobial infections throughout their lifetime and these infections pose particular challenges for treatement. For several reasons, multi-species communities which cause infections are inherently resistant to antimicrobials. One factor is the interactions between microbes within the community. My PhD aims to build an integrated understanding of how pathogens, microbiota and antibiotics interact to drive AMR and disease in the context of CF.

In addition to my day-to-day research, I am engaged in student mentoring and tutoring through the Maths Support Service as an Applied Statistics Tutor and through the Career Confidence Service as a summer student supervisor.
