Overview
I’m a first-year PhD student in the Accounting and Finance Department at Cardiff Business School. My research explores the sustainability of Islamic Microfinance Institutions (IMFIs) in Indonesia, with a focus on how they balance financial inclusion, poverty alleviation, and compliance with Sharia principles. Supervised by Prof. Yusuf Karbhari and Prof. Kent Matthews, I’m particularly interested in how these institutions manage accountability, risk, and effectiveness in serving their stakeholders.
By evaluating how IMFIs operate in practice, I hope to contribute insights that support both their growth and their mission to empower underserved communities. I’m passionate about bridging academic research with real-world impact, and I welcome connections with others interested in sustainable finance, development, and Islamic economics.
