Responsibilities

Miltiadis Ionas is a Research Assistance. His role in the project is to assist with research including planning, preparing, setting up, conducting and recording the outcome of experiments/field work/desktop research/questionnaires. Also, his duties involve collecting, preparing and analysing monitoring data obtained from existing and future demonstration buildings/communities where low carbon systems have been installed. In addition, he is working with the LCBE team to develop a set of monitoring protocols that will be transferable to other built environment projects across Wales and further afield which is essential to provide evidence to support future implementation of low carbon technologies.

Research interests

The research field of interest is the Low Carbon in Built Environment and more specific the monitoring of the energy performance in buildings and regions where low carbon systems have been installed.

Biography

Miltiadis Ionas is a Mechanical Engineer (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 2006) and holds a Masters Degree in Protection, Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Monuments from the School of Architecture (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki,2008). He has worked in Greek industry for over a decade, both in manufacturing and consulting area.

His current work involves working with the LCBE team in the field of monitoring buildings and communities where low carbon systems have been installed.
