Teams and roles for Benjamin Jelley
Clinical Senior Lecturer and Programme Director for MSc Clinical Geriatrics
Overview
I am a Geriatrician working in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board as a consultant in Geriatrics, General and Stroke Medicine. My clinical interests include all aspects of stroke care but with my main interests being around optimisation of outcome from stroke rehabiliation. For this reason I work as one of the consultants in the Stroke Rehabilitiation Centre, University Hospital Llandough.
With Cardiff University I am Programme Director for the MSc Clinical Geriatrics which was relaunched as the first MEDIC postgraduate course on Learning Central Ultra in 2022. This has been a fantastic challenge and it has enabled us to spread the passion our team has for educating students about Geriatrics to an international scale.
I also hold the posts of research lead for Clinical Gerontology and oversee research delivery in University Hospital Llandough within my NHS role. I have been Principal Investigator for many trials and am well versed in trial delivery in all areas of Geriatric Medicine.
