Overview
Research Interests
My work focuses on the implementation of physiotherapy research in practice in Huntington's disease. I have recently developed tools to support people with Huntington's disease to be more physically active, reflecting the international guidelines for physiotherapy. This work has developed in other areas such as osteoarthritis and people living with cancer. As Chair of the Euroepean Huntington's Disease Network Physiotherapy Working Group, I collaborate with physiotherapists across the world to support and enable the use of best evidence in physiotherapy for the Huntington's community.
I have previously chaired the Editorial Board of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Respiratory Care and the range of reviews and outputs can be read in the ACPRC journal https://www.acprc.org.uk/publications/acprc-journal/ This work supports qualified and student physiotherapists ensuring high quality evidence based practice.
This expertise is reflected in my teaching across undergraduate, post-graduate taught and post-graduate research programmes of study, including physiotherapy management of respiratory problems and research methods and data analysis.
