Biography
Junaid Khalid is pursuing his Ph.D. at Cardiff University under the Marie Curie project ADOreD (Accelerating the Deployment of Offshore Wind using DC technology). He is also affiliated with Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (OREC) as an industrial PhD researcher. His research objectives are to develop models and advanced controls of large offshore wind turbines for grid support and set up real-time simulation platforms together with test facilities to implement compliance testing such as high/low voltage ride-through and grid support.
Junaid has both academic and industry experience. He worked as a lab engineer at the university and gained practical experience at an electric supply company. During his master's program, he also served as a research assistant, contributing to several collaborative research projects.
