Teams and roles for Nadine Leder
Lecturer in Logistics and Operations Management
Programme Director BSc Business Management (Development Lead)
Overview
I am a Lecturer in Logistics and Operations Management at Cardiff Business School and Programme Director (Development Lead) for the BSc Business Management programme. My work sits at the intersection of applied research, teaching innovation, and practice.
My primary research focuses on the Circular Economy, with particular emphasis on circular operations, business models, and supply chains. This work is systems-oriented and highly applied, with sector relevance to tourism, hospitality, and waste/resource management, developed through collaboration with industry, community partners, and international universities. I have served as Circular Economy Lead on a €3 million European Development Fund project (FACET) and led smaller applied research initiatives, including the Cardiff Refill Return Cup Scheme. I have also published in peer-reviewed journals and contributed book chapters in these areas.
Complementing my applied research on circularity, I pursue a secondary research stream in learning and teaching. I focus on experiential learning and gamification, exploring how creative pedagogies can support students and professionals engaging with complex, real-world challenges. As a certified LEGO® Serious Play® facilitator, I integrate creative methods into teaching, industry workshops, and programme design.
I bring practical insight through prior logistics experience in Shanghai and engagement with professional bodies, including my two roles with the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (Ambassador in their Early-Career Presidential Team and Higher Education stakeholder representative in their EDI Forum). I am a Fellow of Advance HE (FHEA) and teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, embedding authentic learning, creativity, and leadership development.
