Biography

Studying Glacial Hydrology using New Wireless Instruments

My PhD builds on previous work by Dr Mike Prior-Jones and his team, developing novel sensors to monitor supra, sub and englacial hydrology, collecting data remotely via satellite link.

My engineering background comes via BMus (Tonmeister) Music and Sound Recording at the University of Surrey (2006) during which I researched the impact of noise reduction techniques in forensic audio applications.  Whilst working as a freelancer in the music and audio industries, I studied part-time for BSc Natural Sciences (Earth Science) with the Open University between 2017-2023.  For my final project I investigated geogenic sources of groundwater contamination in the East African Rift Valley.
