Overview
Makenzie Marshall is a third-year PhD student at Cardiff University and Aberystwyth University. She received her MA with Distinction in Welsh from Cardiff University in 2022 and her BA in Literary Studies from Missouri Southern State University in 2018. Her doctoral research, funded by the AHRC SWW DTP, focuses on the 15th-century manuscript Peniarth 27ii. Her interests include storytelling and worldbuilding in manuscripts, the Welsh prophetic tradition, and expressions of nationalism and identity creation in national mythology. In addition to her academic work, she is also an author of fantasy fiction.
She recently undertook a student placement at Bristol University's Bristol Digital Game Lab, coordinating a Festival of History and Heritage in Gaming.
